The others managed to get 4 sites at the Cable Beach caravan park,although they were all separate as the park was full. We arrived around 10:30am, the staff were really helpful and gave us heaps of info like where we could re fill our gas bottles and where the supermarkets were.
The first site we were sent to was wrong but the second site we found site us well. Trees for shade and we had other cub campers and kids as our neighbors. We got set up and then went into town to get the gas and some more beer.
Frew had sent a message saying they were set up on the beach with an esky and ice and a tarp set up for shade. We met up with Alana who had been travelling around for a while in Walter the campervan. Walter is going into storage for a bit so Alana can come with us on the Gibb road.
We got back to the caravan park, got changed into our swimmers and walked down the road to cable beach where we had a few beers,snacks and had a walk out into the water then watched the sunset along the beach.
We walked back to camp with camels following us. Had a shower,which was nice and warm and then all piled into a taxi which took is into Matso's brewery, where we had dinner and sampled the beer.
Sam fell asleep before his food came out so we set up a couple of chairs as a bed and relaxed for the night. Everyone looked so tired. Once we finished dinner we called another taxi and headed back to the caravan park. Sam slept the whole time.
Looking forward to the next three days of just relaxing and being still for a while.
