Burke & Wills Campground to Penrose Park
-31.5257S 141.1355E Silverton
Easy trip into Broken Hill where we stocked up on a few more things, then out to Silverton. Fantastic campground especially for kids. Cost $9 per adult per night had a washing machine & showers. A tram, peacocks lots of other birds "Jack" the cockatoo and "Sarah Jane" the shetland pony. Lovely hosts - we ended up staying for 3 nights. We visited the cemetery where graves dated in the 1880's - lots of child graves due to typhoid, middle aged men due to mining accidents. We went and had a drink at the Silverton Hotel and took photos of the Mad Max cars. Did a few drives into Broken Hill to make phone calls and log onto the internet - Gaz had to make sure the job at Greta was going ok. I loved our campsite at Penrose park at the furtherest awy point away from the other campers. Spoke with one lady who recommended Noccundra as a camping spot - right on the river.
