Day one Katoomba to Birriwa

Late start to the trip as Gaz needed to tidy up a few things before we left. So after a trip to the workshop, the mailbox at Wentworth Falls and his last job site, we hit the road travelling west. It was 1.30pm by the time we really started travelling and I thought we'd probably make Mudgee. We have been travelling using the camps 6 book and the only camp spots listed around Mudgee were show grounds which you had to pay for or rest areas that were littered with toilet paper and really close to the road. So after driving past Mudgee, past gulgong past a rest area we had keyed into the gps, we pulled off the road in a little town called Birriwa and found a spot near some big silos. Perfect!
