We packed up from Alau Beach and drove out to Seisia to see what the availability was for a trip to Thursday island. The ferry was booked out until Sunday but people had been coming early to standby just in case of no shows and most people have been managing to get on so we've decided to try that tomorrow.
We then drove to Punsand Bay camp ground and set up our camp there. A nice bushy campsite with view out to the beach. Once we were set up we decided that we would just have a cruisy day. I went and did some laundry and on the way back from picking up the clothes Sam and I met a little aboriginal boy Dylan who started to hang out with us. He came back to our camp and played with Sams toys then we all went to the swimming pool. Sam took his lightning McQueen plane and car and Dylan took the toy boat.
Dylan played with the boat in the water for a while the played with the lightning McQueen toy then he played tag with the other kids. Sam was hesitant at first to get in the water but once he got used to it he became fearless climbing up on the side and leaping out towards me.
It's a pity he wasn't just a little but bigger as the water was just a little too deep for him to stand.
After swimming we went to the bar and I bought Dylan and Sam an ice cream. Then we started to walk back to camp but Sam started throwing a tantrum as he wanted hot chips. I ended up carrying him all the way back to camp. Dylan was following but I think he didn't like all of Sams screaming so he came up and gave me back the lightning McQueen toy and left.
When Sam and I got back to camp Paul was there having a chat with Gaz. He had been up to the tip and had done the 4WD track to Punsand bay.
We sat around having a drink and chat and then Paul left for his campsite and we heated up bolognaise for dinner then went to bed.
