We thought we'd have a cruise day and took our time in the morning to try to let the camper trailer dry out some more. We ended up leaving around 11:30am.
Just for interests sake the two month old baby that was born in a creek bed and shares the back seat of a falcon sedan with three hunting dogs just got a new companion a bird! Dad and one of the dogs went to check a yabbie trap and came across a gawk swooping down on the bird, the dog got hold of the hawk and they saved the baby bird.
Anyway back to our travels. We stopped for fuel and beer at Mt Carbine. A carton of XXXX costs $49 only going to get dearer as we head north. We stopped for a sausage sandwich Lunch at the intersection then arrived in Laura around 3pm. We are camping in an aboriginal community camping ground opposite the Laura roadhouse it cost $25 for a family for one night. Very noisy as all the road workers are staying here.
Sam had a ball racing around with no nappy on getting filthy in the dirt. At least we had hit showers here and managed to really dry the clothes and camper.
Gaz has said I need to write down what we gave for dinner while we are travelling too. We had chicken wings with this seasoning roasted in the camp oven over a bed of steamed rice - yummy! Only down side of this is cleaning out the camp oven.
We've been eating well on this trip we had a beef satay stir fry at
Mt Molloy and made enough that we'll have some on another night.
